Advanced Bookkeeping Concepts | The Client Expert
Candidates are tasked to demonstrate communication plus accounting knowledge. Instead of asking the candidate to perform data entry and reconciliations, we will be testing their ability to interpret the QuickBooks data and advise the mock client how to optimize business operations.
Employee Skills Test
The optional yearly test to ensure the accounting team’s skills are fresh.
This test is designed to ensure your teams skill's are fresh and sharp with the ever changing software. We suggest issuing this test once a year in conjunction with ProAdvisor certification so your employees stay sharp on new features and old skils to work the software.

This test is a mock situation of a clean-up, so your candidate should be given a 2-7 day deadline to have the project complete. Put a reminder in your calendar on the deadline date so you set aside time to review the candidate's work. It takes an average of 15 min to review a client's work plus time to watch their video.
This test should be given to candidates you wish to hire onto your team but want to verify their knowledge in QBO. Level 3 and Employee Skills Test can also be used to sharpen your own skills for QuickBooks or a yearly refresher for current employees.
This is not a test for small business owners looking to test their outsourced bookkeeper’s skills. The reason for this is that most business owners cannot interpret the end results correctly to make an informed decision to move forward.
There are a few ways to interpret results. First, you will have an immediate download of the final Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, and Statement of Cash Flows for the period. Second, you will also be given an answer key download which walks through what steps in QuickBooks they should have followed. Finally, if your candidate is instructed to send you a video, watching that video will give you a great sense of assurance whether you want them on your team or not.

Maybe you are testing and refreshing your knowledge in QBO, this would also be for you. If the purchaser & candidates email are the same, test results will not be sent until deadline arrives.
